Shailene Woodley wants to play rocker Patti Smith in a big-screen biopic.
The Descendants star tells Asos Magazine that her heart is in movies “that take the audience on an emotional journey. And I would love to play Patti Smith in a film one day — I’m re-reading her autobiography, I’m obsessed with it.”
Woodley also says that she’s not interested in the tons of offers that have come in lately, declaring that the inside Hollywood game isn’t for her: “I’d rather be in a two-minute scene in a phenomenal Meryl Streep movie than the lead of an action-hero film.”
Conservative rocker Ted Nugent has been dropped from a military concert after he made incendiary remarks about President Obama.
Nugent told an NRA audience, referring to Obama and the Democrats, that “[w]e need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November.”
An announcement on the Fort Knox base’s Facebook page indicates: “After learning of opening act Ted Nugent’s recent public comments about the president of the United States, Fort Knox leadership decided to cancel his performance on the installation.”
Nugent was scheduled to perform at the base as part of the “Midwest Rock n’ Roll Express” tour.
The Secret Service brought Nugent in for a meeting after his comments. Nugent has endorsed Mitt Romney for president.
Taylor Swift could land her first major big screen role playing Joni Mitchell.
The multiple award winning singer/songwriter is said to be interested in playing Mitchell in the film, Girls Like Us. The movie follows the careers of Mitchell, Carly Simon, and Carole King and their roles in the feminist movement.
The movie will be directed by Katie Jacobs and was written by John Sayles.
Rihanna used Twitter to reveal that she is a fan of a porn site.
Responding to a tweet from Pornhub, an online aggregator of pornographic videos, the “Rated R” star responded: “@Pornhub if u only knew how much @Rihanna looove u!!! #brazilians #latinos”
Rihanna has celebrated a raunchy image for several years, integrating fetish culture in her music.
British Prime Minister David Cameron doesn’t want children watching sexy music videos. Cameron plans to have a summit of entertainment chiefs at 10 Downing Street in order to discuss new rules blocking kids from music videos from artists like Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Beyonce.
Currently music videos are exempt in the UK from classification as 18+ material and can be purchased online without age verification.
Team Cameron, currently dealing with stalled economic growth, apparently thinks it is suddenly a crisis of national import to protect children’s eyes from gyrating hips.
A proposal is being floated to block access to music videos using similar age verification software to what is being used on gambling sites in the UK.

Two men in White Plains, NY have been charged with scamming $225,000 from promoting a fake Taylor Swift concert.
Derrick “Suits” Robinson and Emmanuel “Kojo” Bentil are charged with larceny and criminal possession of a forged instrument for their role in persuading Kachik Mouradian, CEO of Omega Alpha Enterprises to invest $375,000 in a Taylor Swift concert that never existed.
Bentil allegedly showed Mouradian fake documents that claimed they had secured a concert by chart topper Swift.
Bentil and Robinson initially returned $150,000 when the scam began to unravel.

Taylor Swift has been named as the biggest music industry moneymaker for 2012 by Billboard magazine. The 22 year old Swift earned $35 million from album sales and concert ticket sales. Swift beat out other megastars like U2, Kenny Chesney, Lady Gaga and Lil Wayne who were the top 5 in the list of 40 artists.
Billboard used data from concert receipts, album sales of physical and digital music, radio airplay and online streaming to create their list.
Swift is currently on tour and appears on the soundtrack of the upcoming film, The Hunger Games.
Britney Spears is negotating a deal to be a judge on Fox’s The X-Factor, according to a report in The Hollywood Reporter. The industry magazine reports that Spears’ fiance, Jason Trawick, is negotiating the contract that Spears could sign as soon as next week.
For a few weeks rumors have been flying that Spears would join the cast, in order to replace judges fired by show boss Simon Cowell. Cowell had dropped hints that he wanted the pop superstar to give a boost to the program.
The other two judges are Cowell and producer L.A. Reid.
12 contestants were eliminated from a field of 25 to leave the top 13 finalists on the current edition of Fox’s American Idol. Here are the American Idol top 13:

Rihanna’s musical reunion with abuser Chris Brown reportedly “disappointed” Roc Nation label boss Jay-Z, and now he may be replacing her with upcoming star Rita Ora.
According to a report, Jay-Z accompanied Oraq to top stations to promote her new song, “Party & Bullshit.” Allegedly, Jay-Z has not done a personal meet and greet like that with any other Roc Nation artists, including top-seller Rihanna.
Reportedly Rihanna did not consult with Roc Nation or Jay-Z before she collaborated with her ex-boyfriend and abuser Chris Brown.

Britney Spears reportedly wants to copy Jennifer Lopez’s success on American Idol by joining Fox’s The X-Factor as a celebrity judge. A report in the UK Sun newspaper quotes a Spears insider: “She’s a huge fan of The X Factor and thinks it’s the perfect time for her to be a judge. She wants to show her fans she is back to her best.”
Show boss Simon Cowell recently fired judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger after the show’s first season underperformed expectations, even with Fox’s marketing muscle behind the program.
LeAnn Rimes is also apparently in the running for a judge’s chair.
The following are the nominees for the 2012 Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards. Will Smith will host the show, airing Saturday, March 31, at 8 p.m.

Former Britney Spears insider Fernando Flores is writing a tell-all book about the musical superstar.
The UK Sun reports Flores is set to reveal that Britney’s tours were an “anything goes” environment where “threesomes, orgies, girls making out” were an everyday occurence.
Flores, who worked for Spears in 2010, reportedly claims that Britney bragged about having sex with a hot tub full of attractive young women.
The former insider has also accused Spears of sexual harassment. [Sun]
NBC news anchor Brian Williams doesn’t think much of recent Saturday Night Live musical guest Lana Del Rey. In an email to gossip site Gawker, Williams described Del Rey’s much-panned SNL performance as “one of the worst outings in SNL history.”
Williams went on to call Del Rey “the least-experienced musical guest in the show’s history.”
Network PR bosses apparently freaked out about Williams’ uncensored opinion, sending an email to the site asking them to take the email down. [Gawker]
Lady Gaga fans have declared war on Madonna, and they’re employing racism to do it.
Gaga fans have launched a blog called “The Lady Gaga Project” where they post and coordinate attacks on Madonna. One entry posts links to various Madonna-related articles around the web and advises readers to “be as mean as possible to the old whore.”
The site gets racial with its latest entry, a picture of a gorilla with the headline “Here is the next child Madonna is planning to adopt” and a caption that asks, “We wonder how much she’ll pay for this one??”
Madonna has famously adopted two children from Malawi, who are black.
Madonna recently described Gaga’s song “Born This Way,” which some say sounds like a rip-off of Madonna’s “Express Yourself,” as “reductive.”
The Spice Girls could stage a comeback appearance at this year’s Olympics in London.
In an interview, Spice Girl Mel B told the press that “I think it’s possible” that the ’90s supergroup could return in a performance at the summer games. Fellow bandmate Gerri Halliwell told the Mirror newspaper that, “”Singing at the Games is a great idea and would be an amazing opportunity.”

A new study suggests that 90% of city dwellers are getting a harmful level of audio exposure, mostly through MP3 players like the iPod.
The study, published in the journal Environmental Science and Technology, found that 1 in 10 transit users had noise exposures above the recommended limits simply by using public transit.
Then researchers estimated the total annual exposure from all sources and found that 90 percent of transit users and 87 percent of nonusers exceeded recommended audio exposure limits. This came mostly from MP3 and stereo usage.
University of Michigan researcher Rick Neitzel, who co-authored the study, described it as a “serious” problem. He continued, “There aren’t really any other experiences where we would tolerate having nine out of 10 people exposed at a level we know is hazardous. We certainly wouldn’t tolerate this with another agent, such as something that caused cancer or chronic disease. Yet for some reason we do for noise.”
