British pinup model Maria Fowler is in hot water after it was revealed she used a racist phrase. Over the weekend a british tabloid recorded Fowler outside a club in Liverpool, England. In her conversation, Fowler said, “How am I a racist? I banged a half-breed last week.”
After the comment was revealed, Fowler issued a statement: “I did not realize (and now fully regret) is that the term ‘half breed’ is seen by some, as derogatory it is a word that has openly been used by my peers through my life.”
“I am not a racist and deeply sorry for any offense that may have been caused.”

The next time you fly, you can be sure airport security has you protected from spray tans, based on one model’s tale.
Fitness model Laura Prestin, who hails from Canada, has been featured in magazines like American Curves and Muscle Magazine. She has been a fitness trainer for celebrities and Playboy models.
Prestin says her trip to Cancun ran into some roadblocks when a machine used by airport security to screen travelers showed a “big, red flashing 88%”which caused her to be pulled aside by security guards.
Prestin said the guards brought her “into some room” and began “rummaging through my bag” while also questioning her if she could “think of any chemical that would be so potent or leave such an impact on the screening?”
Initially, she said no, unable to come up with a plausible answer for the government agents.
After thinking about the various cosmetics and hair care products she carried with her, Prestin remembered that she had received a spray tan the night before.
After explaining the tan to the security agents, Prestin said, “they burst out laughing, patting me on the back and putting all my stuff back together.”
The model sees her trip as a cautionary tale: “A lesson for all the athletes, the models, and any other traveller who gets randomly selected for a chemical screening, make sure you consider your spray tan.”
Sofia Paul, a 17 year old model, has won the 2012 Ford Supermodel of the World contest.
As the winner Paul, from Argentina, receives a $250,000 modeling contract with the super-agency.
Previous Supermodel of the World winners include Elle McPherson, Kim Basinger, Jane Fonda, Jerry Hall, Sharon Stone, and Brooke Shields.
Jennifer Santiago, who describes herself as a “diplomat” and claims to be a Foreign Service officer with the State Department, is under fire for a website where she posts modeling and yoga pictures of herself.
Diplomat Peter Van Buren, who is being fired after posting links to Wikileaks, disclosing classified information and making reference to Hillary Clinton’s private private parts is making the claims against Santiago.
He was also placed on a Secret Service watchlist after commentary on Clinton.
According to Van Buren, the content on Santiago’s website should subject her to the same scrutiny he’s under.
He feels he is unfairly being singled out, particularly for writing a book critical of reconstruction efforts in Iraq.
The State Department told the Washington Post that writing about non-official matters online do not require pre-clearance for State Department employees.

Model Simone Farrow, wanted in Australia on charges of running a drug ring out of her Hollywood apartment, was arrested last week. Farrow, a former swimsuit model, claims that she only skipped bail because someone was supposedly trying to murder her.
Officials say Farrow, who worked as a model under the name Simone Starr, used her modeling work as a cover for an international meth sales operation.
Model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has been declared the “face of 2012″ by England’s Guardian newspaper. The British-born model was recently seen in the third Transformers movie and has done photo shoots for Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, FHM, Burberry, and Victoria’s Secret. She is dating and lives with action star Jason Statham.
In an interview with the Guardian, Huntington-Whiteley claims she “grew up in Devon on a farm” and that she was “gangly and awkward” as a teenager.
At 16 she left school to become a model, and was bullied by other older, more experienced women. When she got a contract with Victoria’s Secret, the entire equation changed and she was able to start calling the shots on her career.
She currently lives in Los Angeles, but says, “I miss Britain. I miss the culture, the TV, the radio, the pubs, the comedy, the food, the beautiful countryside.”

Australian police are hunting for bikini model Simone Farrow (aka Simone Starr) after she skipped bail backed by a top lawyer and doctor. Farrow, once voted one of FHM magazine’s sexiest women in the world, was arrested in 2009 for importing meth illegally to the island nation.
The 37 year old model was free after lawyer Anthony Renshaw and Dr. Joseph Grech put up $161,000 dollars in bond for her. She was reportedly living at Grech’s apartment.
A warrant was issued for Farrow’s arrest after she failed to show up for a court date.

Bar Paly, an Israeli supermodel, has been cast in Transformer director Michael Bay’s “small” budget film Pain & Gain. Paly is set to play Sabina Petrescu, an illegal immigrant and former beauty queen who dreams of becoming the next Marilyn Monroe.
Paly will star alongside Dwayne Johnson (The Rock), Mark Wahlberg and Anthony Mackie who play bodybuilders involved in a Florida-based crime caper. Tony Shalhoub will play a kidnap victim in the movie.

Cheryl Tiegs isn’t happy about Kate Upton’s new Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover, describing the 19 year old’s bikini pose as “two strands away from Playboy.”
Tiegs, a former SI cover model herself, told Access Hollywood that “it’s not my favorite Sports Illustrated cover of all time” and was “a step toward Playboy” and away from the magazine’s traditional girl next door image.
Tiegs was recently fired from NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice.

Katie Price (stage name Jordan) was the unlikely winner of a highbrow debate at Cambridge University.
Price took on Rachel Johnson (sister of London mayor Boris Johnson) and journalist Liz Jones in front of 800 students. Price argued against the notion that “the only limit to female success is female ambition.”
Both Johnson and Jones took swipes at Price’s penchant for plastic surgery, nude pin-ups and writing trashy novels, but despite stumbling through some of her presentation, Price won the debate in a landslide. 497 voted in her favor, 29 were opposed and 51 abstained.
Katie Lam, president of Cambridge Union, said, “I thought her perspective would be a valuable one to add to the debate.” [Press Association]
Supermodel Adriana Lima will be starring in an ad for Kia during the upcoming Super Bowl.
Lima features in ad the automaker describes as male fantasy fulfillment. Also appearing in the commercial will be Motley Crue and MMA fighter Chuck Liddell promoting the Kia Optima Limited.

Model Suelyn Medeiros is attempting to stop the distribution of a sex tape. The videos were taken from a laptop with videos Medeiros describes as “a few personal private videos doing things I’m sure every couple does.” Medeiros is getting lawyers to stop the sale of the tape, according to a TMZ report.
Nude pictures of model Alia al-Mahdy (aka Aliaa Elmahdy) have created controversy among the revolutionary groups that overthrew the Hosni Mubarak regime. Alia al-Mahdy was reportedly a member of the April 6 group and has posted nudes of herself online as part of her Memoirs of a Revolutionary blog.
Other members of the group say al-Mahdy’s nudes help the current military regime in their efforts to discredit them. In a statement, April 6 said, “This is yet another attempt by the National Security and the remnants of the old regime to smear us.”
Alia al-Mahdy defended her nudes on her blog as freedom of expression.
Jodie Marsh, the newly muscular glamour model, tells Zoo Magazine that men have offered her money to touch her muscles. Marsh tells the magazine, “I’ve had lots of messages from men asking if they can pay to come and feel my muscles. If they’re offering me a million quid, I’d happily stand there and let them feel me all day!”

A glamour model has had serious drug charges dropped after tests showed what police thought was $500,000 worth of P was actually fake snow from the $2 Shop.
Erin Alberino, 23, faced two charges of possessing methamphetamine for supply and permitting her vehicle to be used in the commission of offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
