Tumblr has been sued by porn publisher Perfect 10 for violating its copyright. In a lawsuit Perfect 10 claims that Tumblr re-published their pictures.
Perfect 10 also alleges that Tumblr employees posted nude pictures “to help start the business” and that “Tumblr turns a blind eye” to copyright infringement on its servers.
In 2006 Perfect 10 sued Google for using thumbnail images while indexing its content for the Google search engine.
Megan Fox and her husband Brian Austin Green are being sued for an alleged assault on a paparazzi photographer in 2010.
According to photographer Delbert Shaw’s lawsuit, after he took a picture of Megan Fox in a bikini, Fox yelled to her husband, “Are you going to let him get away with that?” The photographer claims that Green responded by taking his towel and iPhone, then “pummel[ing]” him with his fists.
The photographer claims Megan Fox cheered her husband on during the attack. He claims he received “serious” injuries as a result.
Lindsay Blankmeyer, a former student of Stonehill College in Easton, Mass. is suing the school after she claims they wouldn’t help her get away from her sex-crazed roommate Laura Sidla. Blankmeyer alleges in her federal lawsuit that she was driven into suicidal depression thanks to the school’s inaction.
Blankmeyer claims her roommate had sex while she was just a few feet away and also engaged in perverse video chats while she was in the same room.
The lawsuit claims that after the school refused her request for a single room, Blankmeyer fell into suicidal 
depression “requiring her to take a leave of absence from school and undergo extensive psychiatric and medical treatment.”
The school says the did attempt to mediate the roommate situation, but that Blankmeyer did not tell them about the sexual issues.

Lawyers are targeting QuickTrim, a diet pill endorsed by Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian, for a class action lawsuit. Lawyers at Bursor & Fisher note that the pill claims it can help with rapid weight loss, but is mostly made from caffeine and “The FDA has determined that caffeine is not safe or effective for weight loss.”
A partner at the firm told the New York Post that they are reaching out to Quicktrim users for a possible class-action case. The firm has won and settled other cases against products like Avacor (hair loss remedy) and Xenadrine (a diet supplement).
Kim Kardashian has on several occasions claimed that Quicktrim helped her lose weight.

Newt Gingrich’s presidential campaign is threatening to sue tv stations if they run a pro-Romney Super PAC’s ads in Georgia.
Gingrich’s campaign issued a cease and desist letter blasting ads from the Restore Our Future Super PAC over ads claiming the disgraced former speaker supported funding China’s one-child policy.
The ads have already run in several other states.
Billionaire Sheldon Adelson recently announced he would be pouring millions more into a Super PAC supporting Gingrich.

Josie Muriel, 27, is suing the Hustler Strip Club in New York for firing her when she became visibly pregnant.
Muriel claims that the staff at the gentlemen’s establishment “became distant, secretive and often asked how long she planned to continue working” according to papers filed in court in Manhattan.
Muriel’s papers go on to blame Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club for describing her baby bump as a liability. [NY Post]
A former stripper has filed a federal lawsuit against a Rhode Island police chief for stealing her money.
Justina Cardoso wants $250,000 in damages from Colonel John Whiting, who has been suspended from his job as police chief. Cardoso claims Whiting took $714 from her purse after a car chase. [AP]
A new study says that anti-smoking drug Chantix is connected to suicide and depression. Thomas J. Moore of Safe Medicine Practices told WebMD that he did not believe Chantix was suitable as a first choice for people trying to stop smoking. The FDA and Pfizer, the creator of Chantix, do not agree with the study’s finding.
The study said Chantix users were eight times more likely to commit suicidal behavior than users of other anti-smoking products. Personal injury lawyers are currently soliciting the names of people in order to possibly file class action lawsuits against Chantix for its possible side effects. [WebMD]
Lawyers for Mariah Yeater, the woman claiming she gave birth to Justin Bieber’s baby, says they want the teen singer’s DNA for a paternity test. Talking to Star Magazine, lawyers Lance Rogers and Matthew Pare said, “She merely requests that Justin Bieber provide a DNA sample to verify that he is the father of Mariah Yeater’s baby, and if so, to help provide child support as required by California law.” Bieber’s representatives deny that the child is his or that Bieber even had sex with the woman. Mariah Yeater, a 20 year old California woman, is claiming in a lawsuit that Justin Bieber got her pregnant. Yeater claims Bieber had sex with her in October 2010 after a show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Bieber’s representatives strenously deny the claim. [Radar]
Tonya Cooley, a contestant on MTV’s Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Ruins is suing MTV and the producer Bunim/Murray Productions, claiming she was raped on the set. Cooley says in her lawsuit that male cast members “took another male participant’s toothbrush and rubbed the toothbrush around plaintiff’s genitals, including rubbing her labia and inserting the toothbrush into plaintiff’s vagina.” [TMZ]
Walmart and Jensen Farms are being sued for the recent breakout of listeria in Rocky Ford Cantaloupes. Jensen Farms has recalled the cantaloupes and the FDA has issued a related advisory. 22 people are said to have been infected with listeria. [Food Safety News]
Scarlett Johansson is threatening legal action over her leaked nude pictures. Johansson’s legal eagles have sent notices to websites displaying Scarlett Johansson’s leaked nudes, asserting that she owns the copyright to the pictures.
Trial lawyers are beginning to ramp up lawsuits against drugmaker Takeda Pharmaceutical Company for their diabetes drug Actos. The FDA recently warned that usage of Actos for some could lead to bladder cancer. There is already one lawsuit against Actos for bladder cancer and other suits can probably be expected.
Martin Kessman filed a federal lawsuit versus White Castle, claiming that since he couldn’t fit in the restaurant booth, his civil rights are being violated. Kessman is 6 feet tall, 290 pounds. [AP]
The family of 15 year old Sasha Rodriguez is suing over her death at a rave. The Electric Daisy Carnival was held at the Los Angeles Coliseum last year. Rodriguez died after overdosing on Ecstasy. Her family is suing the Coliseum and the events organizers. [AP]
The family of James Craig Anderson, a black man who was run down and killed in Jackson, Mississippi, will sue the group of white teenagers they say are responsible for the attack. The lawsuit says the attack was premeditated and that one of the people yelled “white power” and other epithets.
Deryl Dedmon, who drove the car, is facing capital murder charges. [NY Times]
Tamsen Reid, the Utah teenager who claims a police officer forced her to strip in the snow, gave a press conference today about her incident. Reid, who is suing the county of Box Elder, said, “Cops are supposed to uphold the law. I figure they’re always out to do the right thing.”
Reid said she believed the deputy’s claim that she had a warrant out for her arrest and assented to the strip search. Later she found that there was no such warrant. [KSL]
Dr. Jane Rose is suing a Hilton Hotel (Hilton Anatole, Dallas Texas), claiming that they videotaped her undressing and showed the video to other men. Roe claims a cell phone was hidden in the hotel’s spa, which was used to record her undressing. She then says the desk clerk, Malek Atia, showed the video to other male employees. DC Attorney General Irv Nathan is suing Cornell Jones and his non-profit, Miracle Hands, for taking $300,000 from the city’s HIV/AIDS to renovate a warehouse that was turned into Stadium Club, a strip club. The grant was supposed to go to a job training center for HIV/AIDS patients. Jones is a convicted drug dealer. [WUSA9]
Tamsen Reid, an 18 year old Utah woman, claims that a sheriff’s deputy in Box Elder County forced her to strip in the snow and show her breasts during a 2010 traffic stop. She is suing former deputy Scott R. Womack, Sheriff J. Lynn Yeates, and Box Elder County. Reid also claims Womack told her to spread her legs so he could look for “vaginal piercings.” [Salt Lake Tribune]
The Texas Department Of Transportation is requesting a restraining order against booksellers to stop the sale of a romance novel by Christie Craig titled Don’t Mess With Texas. The department says in a lawsuit that “the book contains numerous graphic references to sexual acts, states of arousal, etc.”
The Department claims that the slogan “don’t mess with Texas” was used without permission. They are asking for the book to be recalled and destroyed. [Bizjournals]
Phillip Seaton, a truck driver from Kentucky, is suing Dr John Patterson for removing his penis without his consent.
Patterson says that while Seaton came in for a circumcision to treat inflammation, cancer was found which made the amputation necessary. The specific claim in the lawsuit is “loss of service, love and affection.”
Seaton also sued the hospital, Jewish Hospital, and received an out of court settlement. [BBC]
Hailey Clauson, a 16 year old model, is suing Urban Outfitters for what she describes as a “salacious” picture the chain is using on t-shirts. Clauson is suing for $28 million with the claim that the shot is “destroying her reputation.” Clauson’s lawsuit claims the photographer made “her crotch area the focal point of the image.” [E!]
Police officer Nicole Rosenstiel, a former cheerleader for the Oakland Raiders, is suing the city of Vacaville, CA for sexual harassment. Rosenstiel says she was subject to jokes and insults by fellow officers due to her background during her time on the police force from 2004-2009.
The lawsuit says a sergeant asked “asked for a show of hands by those officers who wanted to see plaintiff naked” and another officer told her, “nice rack.” The lawsuit also claims that “Her supervisor told her that she should not work out in the department’s gym because she would draw attention to herself because of her appearance.” [SF Chronicle]
The 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has allowed a lawsuit against former Bush administration Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld to go forward. The suit alleges that Donald Vance and Nathan Ertel were detained and tortured after they revealed illegal activities by the Iraqi firm they worked for.
The suit says Rumsfeld approved the techniques used, including sleep deprivation.
Rumsfeld oversaw the initial years of the war in Iraq, and presided over incidents like torture at the Abu Ghraib prison. Under Rumsfeld, thousands of American solders died while looking for weapons of mass destruction that were not in Iraq. [AP]
A Utah woman, Trudy Nycole Anderson, is suing her employer, claiming that she was subjected to a series of sexually themed dress codes and other types of sexual harrasment. According to the complaint, the employer listed the days as follows: “Mini-skirt Monday,” “Tube-top Tuesday,” “Wet T-shirt Wednesday,” “No bra Thursday” and “Bikini top Friday.”
The lawsuit was filed against Derek Wright, owner of Lone Peak Controls and D& L Electric Control Company. Anderson also claims Wright slapped her on her buttocks, made inquiries about her pubic hair, and demanded she show him her breasts. Anderson also says Wright watched pornography in the office. Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, known worldwide as “the Winklevoss Twins” have finally dropped their lawsuit versus Facebook. The twins had claimed intellectual ownership of the site, asserting that Facebook was developed by Mark Zuckerberg while working for them at Harvard.
Recently a judge in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against them, expressing exasperation at their continued litigation of the matter.

According to TMZ, Baldwin is suing Costner because he robbed him of his shares in the oil-filtering invention Costner sold during the BP oil leak disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.
According to a filed lawsuit in Louisiana federal court obtained by TMZ, Costner agreed to have Baldwin come on to his small biotech company, which built a device separating oil from water. The move assured Baldwin 10 percent of shares in the company. The key part of the lawsuit comes in Baldwin’s accusation of Costner lying about plans to sell the devices to BP after buying Baldwin’s shares back, when he later ended up selling 32 machines to the oil corporation. The deal with BP had an estimated value of $52 million.

George Clinton has filed a copyright lawsuit against members of the Black Eyed Peas, UMG Recordings and Cherry Lane Music for allegedly sampling his song (Not Just) Knee Deep on a Grammy-award nominated album.
According to the complaint, filed on Friday in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, Clinton’s song wound up in remixes of the Black Eyed Peas’ Shut Up, first released in 2003.

Visitors to www.youporn.com over the past four years could be in store for a payday if a case against operators of the site proves they stole browser histories from visitors.

The publisher of Sarah Palin’s forthcoming book filed a lawsuit against Gawker Media on Friday for leaking pages of “America By Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith and Flag” before its release next week.

Amy-Erin Blakely filed the lawsuit in an Orange County court on Wednesday and said the harrassment at The Devereux Foundation went on for about five years.
Blakely managed 900 employees at the leading nonprofit behavioral health organization that also provides foster and adoptive assistance. Blakely says she worked for the organization in Orlando until she was fired last year after she accused managers of sexual harassment, according to CBS affiliate WKMG.
Shivana Persad, 26, says she was treated like a second-class citizen at Chase Manhattan’s South Richmond Hill, Queens, branch.
Persad says she was insulted after she complained to a Guyanese manager after witnessing two co-workers having sex near a copy machine in March 2009.
“You Trinis need to mind your own business,” she was told, according to court papers.

A Poulsbo woman has quite the predicament tonight: Billionaire Donald Trump is threatening to sue her.
Trump’s lawyers recently sent Lynanne White of Poulsbo a letter, saying that what she’s doing with a mail-in pageant called “Miss American Rose” is somehow infringing upon Trump’s Miss USA, Miss Teen USA and Miss Universe pageants.
White is running Miss American Rose out of her home.
Lil Wayne already has four children with four different women. Now he’s learned he might have fathered a fifth.
While he was serving out his recently completed eight-month jail term at New York’s Rikers Island for gun possession, Wayne was hit with a paternity suit from a Missouri woman who alleges that the rapper fathered a child in 2002.
The eight-year-old’s grandmother obtained a court order that requires Wayne to undergo a DNA test.
