Porn Publisher Perfect 10 Sues Tumblr

Woman's Legs In High Heel ShoesTumblr has been sued by porn publisher Perfect 10 for violating its copyright. In a lawsuit Perfect 10 claims that Tumblr re-published their pictures.

Perfect 10 also alleges that Tumblr employees posted nude pictures “to help start the business” and that “Tumblr turns a blind eye” to copyright infringement on its servers.

In 2006 Perfect 10 sued Google for using thumbnail images while indexing its content for the Google search engine.

Megan Fox

Megan Fox and her husband Brian Austin Green are being sued for an alleged assault on a paparazzi photographer in 2010.

According to photographer Delbert Shaw’s lawsuit, after he took a picture of Megan Fox in a bikini, Fox yelled to her husband, “Are you going to let him get away with that?” The photographer claims that Green responded by taking his towel and iPhone, then “pummel[ing]” him with his fists.

The photographer claims Megan Fox cheered her husband on during the attack. He claims he received “serious” injuries as a result.

Lindsay BlankmeyerLindsay Blankmeyer, a former student of Stonehill College in Easton, Mass. is suing the school after she claims they wouldn’t help her get away from her sex-crazed roommate Laura Sidla. Blankmeyer alleges in her federal lawsuit that she was driven into suicidal depression thanks to the school’s inaction.

Blankmeyer claims her roommate had sex while she was just a few feet away and also engaged in perverse video chats while she was in the same room.

The lawsuit claims that after the school refused her request for a single room, Blankmeyer fell into suicidal Laura Sidladepression “requiring her to take a leave of absence from school and undergo extensive psychiatric and medical treatment.”

The school says the did attempt to mediate the roommate situation, but that Blankmeyer did not tell them about the sexual issues.

Kim KardashianLawyers are targeting QuickTrim, a diet pill endorsed by Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian, for a class action lawsuit. Lawyers at Bursor & Fisher note that the pill claims it can help with rapid weight loss, but is mostly made from caffeine and “The FDA has determined that caffeine is not safe or effective for weight loss.”

A partner at the firm told the New York Post that they are reaching out to Quicktrim users for a possible class-action case. The firm has won and settled other cases against products like Avacor (hair loss remedy) and Xenadrine (a diet supplement).

Kim Kardashian has on several occasions claimed that Quicktrim helped her lose weight.

Newt GingrichNewt Gingrich’s presidential campaign is threatening to sue tv stations if they run a pro-Romney Super PAC’s ads in Georgia.

Gingrich’s campaign issued a cease and desist letter blasting ads from the Restore Our Future Super PAC over ads claiming the disgraced former speaker supported funding China’s one-child policy.

The ads have already run in several other states.

Billionaire Sheldon Adelson recently announced he would be pouring millions more into a Super PAC supporting Gingrich.

ChantixA new study says that anti-smoking drug Chantix is connected to suicide and depression. Thomas J. Moore of Safe Medicine Practices told WebMD that he did not believe Chantix was suitable as a first choice for people trying to stop smoking. The FDA and Pfizer, the creator of Chantix, do not agree with the study’s finding.

The study said Chantix users were eight times more likely to commit suicidal behavior than users of other anti-smoking products. Personal injury lawyers are currently soliciting the names of people in order to possibly file class action lawsuits against Chantix for its possible side effects. [WebMD]

Tamsen Reid, the Utah teenager who claims a police officer forced her to strip in the snow, gave a press conference today about her incident. Reid, who is suing the county of Box Elder, said, “Cops are supposed to uphold the law. I figure they’re always out to do the right thing.”

Reid said she believed the deputy’s claim that she had a warrant out for her arrest and assented to the strip search. Later she found that there was no such warrant. [KSL]

Gavel In CourtPhillip Seaton, a truck driver from Kentucky, is suing Dr John Patterson for removing his penis without his consent.

Patterson says that while Seaton came in for a circumcision to treat inflammation, cancer was found which made the amputation necessary. The specific claim in the lawsuit is “loss of service, love and affection.”

Seaton also sued the hospital, Jewish Hospital, and received an out of court settlement. [BBC]

Police officer Nicole Rosenstiel, a former cheerleader for the Oakland Raiders, is suing the city of Vacaville, CA for sexual harassment. Rosenstiel says she was subject to jokes and insults by fellow officers due to her background during her time on the police force from 2004-2009.

The lawsuit says a sergeant asked “asked for a show of hands by those officers who wanted to see plaintiff naked” and another officer told her, “nice rack.” The lawsuit also claims that “Her supervisor told her that she should not work out in the department’s gym because she would draw attention to herself because of her appearance.” [SF Chronicle]

Donald RumsfeldThe 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has allowed a lawsuit against former Bush administration Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld to go forward. The suit alleges that Donald Vance and Nathan Ertel were detained and tortured after they revealed illegal activities by the Iraqi firm they worked for.

The suit says Rumsfeld approved the techniques used, including sleep deprivation.

Rumsfeld oversaw the initial years of the war in Iraq, and presided over incidents like torture at the Abu Ghraib prison. Under Rumsfeld, thousands of American solders died while looking for weapons of mass destruction that were not in Iraq. [AP]

According to the complaint, the employer listed the days as follows: “Mini-skirt Monday,” “Tube-top Tuesday,” “Wet T-shirt Wednesday,” “No bra Thursday” and “Bikini top Friday.”

The lawsuit was filed against Derek Wright, owner of Lone Peak Controls and D& L Electric Control Company. Anderson also claims Wright slapped her on her buttocks, made inquiries about her pubic hair, and demanded she show him her breasts. Anderson also says Wright watched pornography in the office. According to TMZ, Baldwin is suing Costner because he robbed him of his shares in the oil-filtering invention Costner sold during the BP oil leak disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.

According to a filed lawsuit in Louisiana federal court obtained by TMZ, Costner agreed to have Baldwin come on to his small biotech company, which built a device separating oil from water. The move assured Baldwin 10 percent of shares in the company. The key part of the lawsuit comes in Baldwin’s accusation of Costner lying about plans to sell the devices to BP after buying Baldwin’s shares back, when he later ended up selling 32 machines to the oil corporation. The deal with BP had an estimated value of $52 million.

George Clinton has filed a copyright lawsuit against members of the Black Eyed Peas, UMG Recordings and Cherry Lane Music for allegedly sampling his song (Not Just) Knee Deep on a Grammy-award nominated album.

According to the complaint, filed on Friday in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, Clinton’s song wound up in remixes of the Black Eyed Peas’ Shut Up, first released in 2003.

Visitors to www.youporn.com over the past four years could be in store for a payday if a case against operators of the site proves they stole browser histories from visitors.

The class action suit claims visitors to youporn.com were harmed when JavaScript on the site probed their browsers to find out other sites the browser had visited, according to a complaint filed in U.S. District Court in California.

Sarah Palin America By Heart

The publisher of Sarah Palin’s forthcoming book filed a lawsuit against Gawker Media on Friday for leaking pages of “America By Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith and Flag” before its release next week.

The legal complaint was filed Friday in federal court in Manhattan, said a spokeswoman for HarperCollins Publishers. The filing came two days after Gawker published images of 21 of the book’s pages and its dedication page. In response, Palin tweeted, “Isn’t that illegal?”

Blakely managed 900 employees at the leading nonprofit behavioral health organization that also provides foster and adoptive assistance. While he was serving out his recently completed eight-month jail term at New York’s Rikers Island for gun possession, Wayne was hit with a paternity suit from a Missouri woman who alleges that the rapper fathered a child in 2002.

The eight-year-old’s grandmother obtained a court order that requires Wayne to undergo a DNA test.
