In an emotional meeting with survivors of the Japanese tsunami in a town in Japan, Vice President Joe Biden expressed America’s admiration for the resolve of the Japanese people.
A 7.1 magnitude earthquake has hit off of the northeastern coast of Japan, still recovering from the devastating earthquake and tsunami of March 2011.

Economic Times: A Toyota Motor Corp. spokesman says it’s inevitable that the company will have to shut down its North American factories due to shortages of parts from Japan. Spokesman Mike Goss says the shutdowns are likely to take place later this month, affecting about 25,000 workers. But he says no layoffs are expected.
