The office of the Inspector General has revealed that $2 billion earmarked for use in Iraq by the Bush administration in 2004 simply cannot be found.
In an audit published on Friday, the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction found that out of $3 billion the Department of Defense was authorized to use for contracting expenses, only one-third of the money can be accounted for.
Donald Rumsfeld was Secretary of Defense at the time of the discrepancy. [CNN]
