Story About Rush Limbaugh Being Denied Service At Mexican Restaurant Is A Hoax
A story circulating online about conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh being denied service at a Mexican restaurant is a hoax.
In the story, the proprietor of a Mexican restaurant purportedly told Limbaugh they have a “no racists” policy and refused to serve him. In response, Limbaugh launched into “a racist, obscenity-laced rant.”
The story comes from a satirical website, the Daily Currant, and is not a real event that occurred.
In reality, however, Limbaugh is anti-immigrant and has expressed racist ideas on-air. He described Mexican immigrants as “a renegade, potential[ly] criminal element” that is “unwilling to work.” He also insisted that Mexican immigrants were much lazier than their Cuban counterparts.
Limbaugh has also played a key role in convincing Republicans to oppose immigration reform. He recently vowed that he would do everything he could to prevent President Obama and Democrats from pursuing immigration reform.
