A Texas prosecutor who was involved in investigating the Aryan Brotherhood hate group was fatally gunned down in front of a courthouse on Thursday.
Mark E. Hasse worked in Kaufman, TX, a town 35 miles away from Dallas.
The New York Times reports that one or two gunmen wearing “masks, black clothing and tactical-style vests” committed the crime, according to witnesses.
The killers are still on the loose.
The Aryan Brotherhood of Texas is a criminal white supremacist group operating a wide network in and out of prisons. They have been involved in drug trafficking, extortion, prostitution, and murder.
Mr. Hasse was involved in prosecuting Aryan Brotherhood members for racketeering, but they do not know if his murder was connected to that work.
