Neighbors Say Kidnapper Jimmy Lee Dykes Was Anti-Government
Jimmy Lee Dykes, the 65 year old who kidnapped a 6 year old child in Midland City, Alabama, reportedly held anti-government views.
Dykes, reportedly a Vietnam veteran, told his neighbors that he was afraid of the government. One neighbor tells a news site that “He’s the type that thinks the government’s out to get him. He’s not right in the head.”
The child, who is autistic, is being held by Dykes in an underground bunker.
The bus driver who attempted to stop the gunman, Charles Poland, Jr., was shot four times by Dykes and died.
