NO SHAME: Father Of 6 Year Old Newtown Shooting Victim Heckled By NRA Fans (VIDEO)
One of the fathers of a Sandy Hook victim was heckled by NRA supporters while testifying in front of a Connecticut state committee hearing about gun violence.
Neil Heslin, holding a picture of his 6 year old son Jesse Lewis, testified in favor of banning assault weapons and limiting high capacity gun clips. In the process, he was interrupted with screams of “the second amendment!” from attendees described by the Connecticut Post as “[wearing] National Rifle Association hats.”

Heslin testified that “we’re not living in the wild west” and that military style weapons like the Bushmaster assault rifle used to mow down his child and 19 other children were not necessary for personal safety.
President Obama and congressional Democrats have proposed several gun safety measures in the wake of the Sandy Hook massacre, while the NRA and many elected Republicans continue to oppose any reforms.
