The American Veterinary Medical Association recently released their annual report on pet ownership, and it reveals which states are the most in love with animals.

Here are the top 10 states for pet ownership. Each state is followed by the percentage of households who own pets.

10. Wyoming – 61.8%

9. Idaho – 62%

8. West Virginia – 62.1%

7. Arkansas – 62.4%

6. Washington State – 62.7%

5. Maine – 62.9%

4. Oregon – 63.6%

3. South Dakota – 65.6%

2. New Mexico – 67.6%

1. Vermont – 70.8%

The survey found that Washington, D.C. was the least pet crazy in all of America, with a measly 21.9% of households owning pets.
