Tea Party Protester

Support for the Tea Party movement is dropping.

A new poll from the conservative Rasmussen Report finds that only 8% of voters identify themselves as members of the right-wing Tea Party movement. That is down from a height of 24% during opposition to the health care reform law.

Only 30% told Rasmussen that they have a favorable view of the Tea Party, while 49% have an unfavorable view of the hard-right group.

Tea Party supported members in the House of Representatives have steadfastly refused to compromise with President Obama to shore up the economy by raising the debt ceiling and increasing taxes for the super-rich.
