Latinos For Obama

Latino voters have pushed President Obama into a small lead in previously Republican Arizona.

The home to conservative icons John McCain and Barry Goldwater could be in play for President Obama, according to a a new poll. The Rocky Mountain Poll shows Obama ahead of Romney in Arizona, 44% to 42%.

John McCain won Arizona 53% to 44% in 2008, and the state has not voted for a Democratic presidential candidate since Bill Clinton in 1996.

The poll found that Obama’s slight lead comes from the growing Latino vote, who supports the President 77% to 10%.

During the Republican presidential primary, Romney shifted to the hard right on key immigration issues, arguing that undocument immigrants should practice “self-deportation.”
