McKayla Maroney Has Lust For Acting

Olympic gold medalist gymnast McKayla Maroney wants to become an actress.

Using her Olympic visibility as a springboard to other projects, the athlete will appear in an upcoming episode of Hart of Dixie on The CW.

Maroney told CNN: “I’ve always wanted to be an actress … Ever since I was very little, I really liked being in front of a camera. I’ve always been drawn to it and I’ve always wanted to pursue it, just like gymnastics.”

She said she still plans to compete in the Olympics and in the gymnastics world championship, but after that she’d like to model her career after Emma Stone. “She’s an amazing actress and I love how she does all different sorts of things, and that’s what I’d like to do.”

Maroney’s agent is trying to get her more acting jobs, and will appear in a guest role on Pretty Little Liars.
