WWE wrestling has pulled “some dated and edgier” content from digital media platforms as Linda McMahon’s Senate campaign heats up.

McMahon, the wife of WWE founder Vince McMahon is engaged in a tight race with Rep. Chris Murphy for Connecticut’s open Senate seat. Murphy has accused McMahon of ducking WWE’s legacy of sexual content.

McMahon served as President and then CEO of WWE.

Vince McMahon infamously inducted wrestlers into the “kiss my ass” club where they were forced to kiss his bare rear end in the ring.

During McMahon’s time at the company, the term “HLA” was used on-air to refer to “Hot Lesbian Action” during episodes of WWE Raw between female wrestlers known as “WWE Divas.”

One wrestler, Edge, simulated live sex in a bed positioned in the middle of the ring.

Several WWE divas — Sable, China, Torrie Wilson, Christy Hemme, Candice Michelle, Ashley Massaro, Maria Kanellis — posed nude for Playboy magazine during Linda McMahon’s tenure as CEO.
