A Virginia-based gang recruited young women on social media sites to use as its stable of prostitutes.
27 year old Justin Strom has just been convicted for sex trafficking and has been sentenced to 14 to 40 years in prison. Four other defendants received a combined 53 years in their sentencing.
The Underground Gangster Crips based in Fairfax, Virinia, trolled social networking sites — like Twitter and Facebook — for attractive young women. They would seduce the girls, then lure them into sexual “tryouts” according to the FBI.
Then, along with other girls, they would induce them into being professional prostitutes, sending them to hotels for meetings with men or keeping them in Strom’s house for sexual clients.
The gang also used online classified sites to advertise the women for sale.
