Natalie Portman Playing Communist Loving Sexual Adventurer?
Natalie Portman’s next big movie could be in the role of a real-life Communist-loving sexual adventurer in the movie adaptation of the non-fiction book In the Garden of the Beasts.
Portman, who will appear next in Thor 2, is reportedly in talks to play Martha Dodd. Dodd was the 24 year old daughter of Ambassador William Dodd, America’s last ambassador to Germany as Adolph Hitler took over that country.
Martha was a free spirit and liberated sexual adventurer who fell in love with a Communist revealed as a spy for Stalin’s Russia.
Tom Hanks’ production company reportedly will make the film, while director Michel Hazanavicius (The Artist) is negotiating to become the project’s director.
