Retailers Anticipate Good Holiday Season

The volume of cargo imported for major retailers to ports around the country is expected to increase by 8.5% over 2011. Holiday retail, which represents a significant percentage of sales volume, is often cited as an indicator of economic health.

The Holiday season traditionally begins on the Friday after Thanksgiving on “Black Friday.”
