According to Luxury-Hotels.com, the Le Dune hotel in Sardinia, Italy will set vacationers the furthest back. An average one night stay at the resort, located in Santa Margherita di Pula, will cost $2,539. That’s nearly $500 more than its closest competitor, the Royal Mansour in Marrakech, Morroco.

Here are the ten most expensive hotels in the world, based on their prices between June and August of 2012. Prices are the average cost of a standard double room:
