Scenesse, a rice-sized implant, can be placed underneath the skin and causes skin to be bronzed in just two days.
According to the manufacturer (Clinuvel, an Australian firm), who claims that the device is not designed for cosmetic use, Scenesse can simply be implanted at the hip and works quickly to transform human skin.
Scenesse works by releasing a hormone that fools the skin into thinking it has been exposed to the sun and triggers a tanning response. They believe that it could cut down on skin cancer and assist those who have allergic reactions to the sun.
