Study Shows “Automatic White Preference” Among White Voters
A new study examining the racial attitudes of voters has uncovered what scientists describe as “automatic white preference” among a majority of white voters.
The results were found in research presented at the annual convention of the American Psychological Association.
A survey asked 15,000 eligible voters between January and April 2012 about their racial attitudes. The study was conducted by Anthony G. Greenwald, PhD of the University of Washington. The subjects were also measured using the Implicit Association Test, which measures unconscious racial attitudes.
