Actress Charisma Carpenter Survived Violent Attack

Actress Charisma Carpenter survived a violent attack by a serial rapist twenty years ago when she was a cheerleader for the San Diego Chargers.

Carpenter, then 22, were attacked by an armed cop while swimming at a San Diego beach in 1991. The assailant shot two of her friends and held her at gunpoint.

She eventually escaped after one friend lunged at the man, who turned out to be a serial rapist.

Carpenter has just been announced as the host for I Survived Evil, a new show on the Investigation Discovery network.
