FDA Official Arrested On Prostitution Charge

Dr. William Maisel, an official at the Food and Drug Administration, has been charged with four counts of soliciting prostitution and one count of disorderly conduct.

Maisel, 46, is Deputy Center Director for Science and Chief Scientist at the FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health. He was arrested in July during a sting run by female police officers in Howard County, Maryland.

An FDA spokesperson told MedCity News: “Dr. Maisel is still employed by the agency and is working.”
