Apple – Twitter Alliance?

Apple may be working on an alliance with the Twitter social network.

The New York Times reports that Apple is discussing making a substantial investment in Twitter. The move, which would finally allow Apple to gain a foothold in social media, is said to value Twitter at at least $10 billion.

Apple has recently closely integrated Twitter on the Mac, iPhone and iPad. Apple’s own iTunes based social network, Ping, has been a failure for the influential company.
