Keira Knightley Quits Blockbuster Movies

Keira Knightley has decided to abandon the blockbuster movies that made her an international star.

The Pirates of the Caribbean headliner told Empire magazine: “It comes to a point where you think: ‘What kind of film can I make that will allow me to live a proper life?’ and those tent-pole movies make it difficult.”

Knightley is slated appear as the lead character in the upcoming Anna Karenina.

She also hinted that safety concerns were behind her blockbuster ban: “I do actually love blockbusters but that decision has a lot that comes with it that I’m not prepared to go with. I don’t think if a model is in an advertising campaign then she shouldn’t be able to walk down the street feeling safe.”
