Iranian leaders have announced a plan to crack down on Facebook porn.
Commander Kamal Hadianfar, head of the “information, production and exchange police” told a news agency that “In 2010, Facebook served as a free domain for criminals, but in the name of God and with the presence of the police over the past 15 months, we have made many significant moves to cleanse social networks, especially that of Facebook.”
Hadianfar claimed that four members of the “Puff and Duff” page on Facebook had been arrested for “promoting corruption and prostitution.” The “Puff and Duff” page has reportedly been used as an online hangout for Iranian youth.
The porn war may be a cover story, as various anti-regime groups have attempted to organize themselves on social networks like Facebook.
