Godless Americans At All Time High

Americans are cutting their ties to religion unlike ever before.

A new Pew poll finds that 19% of Americans report that they are without a religion, the highest ever measured in the survey.

Other surveys have found that the change is recent. In 1990, 6% reported “none” as their religion. By 2008, the number was 15% and rose to 18% in 2010.

Membership in churches like the Catholic Church, Southern Baptist, and Methodist have all seen declines or contraction.
