Vaccine For Childhood Meningitis Approved

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved a new medication to fight meningitis in children.

Menhibrix, from GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals is approved for use in children from 6 weeks old up to 18 months. The vaccine can prevent invasive disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis serogroups C and Y, and Haemophilus influenzae type b.
