Michael Bay’s reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been shut down.

IGN reports that the production has been shut down and pre-production staff has been laid off. The movie produced some online controversy a few months ago when Michael Bay said he was changing the origin of the turtles from mutants to something alien in origin.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles began as a hit comic book, then spun off into toys, comic books, video games, movies and a classic tv cartoon series.
