In a new survey, 20% of teenagers admit to sexting, even though the dangers of the practice are now well known. The study, from Donald Strassberg of the University of Utah found that among 600 teens at a private high school in the Southwest, sexting was done from the freshman level all the way up to seniors.

They found that 50% of males received sexual texts, while 31% of females were on the receiving end.

In some states the possession of sexually explicit pictures of a minor is classified as child pornography, and recipients who are caught may have to register as a sex offender.
