New research indicates that cloud computing could power 14 million jobs worldwide. Research from IDC indicates that the industry created around putting computer functions and storage in always-accessible Internet-based “clouds” is experiencing rapid growth.
IDC believes that 1.2 million of the new jobs will be in the U.S. and Canada, with the remainder focused on developing economies like Brazil, Russia, India and China — the so-called “BRIC” nations.
It is predicted that cloud computing will lead to a $1.1 trillion yearly increase in revenues for the companies that use the technology.
