GOP Congresswoman Comes Out As Birther
Another Republican congresswoman has revealed that she believes the conspiracy theory that President Obama was not born in America.
Speaking at a town hall meeting, conservative Missouri Rep. Vicky Hartzler said she had “doubts” about the veracity of Obama’s birth certificate.
President Obama released his birth certificate in 2007, and his long form certificate a few years later. Both documents have been verified by the U.S. congress.
In 2011, speaking to a Tea Party meeting, Hartzler compared gay marriage to pedophilia and allowing children to drive cars.
Republicans and conservatives have regularly promoted the “birther” conspiracy theory, despite it being debunked several times.
