12 Celebrities Reveal Their Crappy Old Jobs

Celebrities weren’t born on the red carpet, starring in Hollywood hits. Before they were stars, some celebrities had really crappy jobs… just like us.

1. Rachel McAdams

Rachel McAdams worked at McDonald’s for three years. She told Glamour magazine: “I was not a great employee; I broke the orange juice machine one day.”

2. Tom Cruise

Before Tom Cruise became an action star (and a bit of a lunatic) he was a paperboy for the Louisville Courier-Journal.

3. Madonna

Madonna moved to New York City seeking fame. Instead she got a job at Dunkin’ Donuts but it didn’t last long. She says, “I was sacked from Dunkin’ Donuts for squirting the donuts jelly all over the customers.”

4. Hugh Jackman

He was intimidating as Wolverine, but Hugh Jackman admits,”I made my living as a clown at kids’ parties for about three years.” He says he made about $50 for each show.

5. Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp was a pen salesman. It was deceptive work, he admits: “You’re calling people who don’t want you to call them. You put on your best fake voice and try and sell them a gross or two of ballpoint pens with their name printed on them. First you say, ‘Congratulations. you have just become eligible to win a grandfather clock’ — or a trip to Greece or a Jacuzzi or whatever.”

6. Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria worked at a Wendy’s back in Corpus Christi, Texas. In 2009 she went back on the job, volunteering at the drive-thru for a charity benefit.

7. Amy Adams

Amy Adams worked in a tight top and a short shirt as a Hooters girl. She says she did it “because I needed to buy a car” and left the job after she saved $900 for a new Chevy.

8. George Clooney

George Clooney cut tobacco for a living and sold insurance door to door. Compared to acting, he calls those jobs real “hard work.”

Jon Hamm worked in porn — not as a performer, but as a set dresser.

Teenage Megan Fox covered up in her job as a hype woman for a smoothie bar in Florida. She explains, “I would sometimes have to go out in the street wearing a gigantic banana costume and dance to try to get customers to come in.”
