Economist Projects USA To Crush World At 2012 London Olympics

An economist has released his biennial predictions for who will win medals at the Olympics, and he says USA all the way.
Economist Daniel Johnson uses a model that looks at per capita income, population, previous Olympic hosting, and dedication to the Olympics to make his predictions.
He predicts 43 gold medals and 103 medals overall for America, besting its closest competitor, China. In 2008 he accurately predicted America’s medal count, but underestimated the Chinese.
