Poll: Primaries Destroying GOP’s Image, Obama At 50% Approval

Mitt RomneyThe Republican party’s primary process is wreaking havoc with the party’s brand, according to a new poll from NBC and the Wall Street Journal. The poll finds that 40% find the ongoing war between Romney, Gingrich, and Santorum is giving them an unfavorable view of the GOP. Only about 10% think the primaries have been good for George W. Bush’s party.

When asked to describe the fight, Republicans responded: “Unenthusiastic,” “discouraged,” “lesser of two evils,” “painful,” “disappointed,” “poor choices,” “concerned,” “underwhelmed,” “uninspiring” and “depressed.”

The poll found that President Obama’s approval rating has rebounded to 50% and he leads Romney by 6% in a head to head matchup.
