Teacher Lauren Redfern (PHOTO) Allegedly Had Sex With Student In School Bathroom

The alleged affair between Colorado teacher Lauren Redfern and a male student was exposed when she and the boy were caught having sex in the bathroom of her office.

The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office reports that the Basalt High School athletic director accidentally interrupted the encounter between Redfern and the boy. The discovery happened on February 9 and an investigation began on February 10.

Redfern has been charged with two counts of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust, pattern of abuse.

She graduated from the same high school in 2004 and is a full time employee there in the capacity of head coach of the girl’s basketball team and as a health and strength conditioning teacher.

Redfern told police the affair began after she exchanged texts with the student. Then they began “kissing and fondling” when she went to his house to watch a movie.

The sexual affair between Redfern and the student began after he came to her house for help working on a school paper. He was 17 at the time.
