Susan RiceSusan Rice, United States ambassador to the United Nations, did not mince words after China and Russia exercised vetoes in the UN Security Council against a condemnation of Syria’s Bashar al Assad.

Rice said, “The United States is disgusted that a couple of members of this Council continue to prevent us from fulfilling our sole purpose.”

The United Nations was debating a measure to call for an immediate end to violence in Syria, in response to the armed cracked down on Syrian citizens by Assad’s regime.
