Iran’s government has banned Barbie in a move to shield its population yet again from Western influences.
The country’s leaders are racheting up opposition to the world famous doll after expressing displeasure with the plastic pin-up in 1996. Reuters reports that the “morality police” are now telling store owners to remove the dolls from their stores.
Barbie has also been outlawed in Saudi Arabia. [GlobalPost]
