Most Americans are sympathetic to the hundreds of victims exposed to sexual abuse by priests in the Catholic Church across the world. Not William Donohue, the head of the conservative Catholic League. Donohue, who pulled in a salary of $342,500 in 2009, blasted abuse victims in a release from the organization today.

In 2005 Donohue said the “gay community” should apologize “to straight people for all the damage that they have done.” In a 2002 MSNBC appearance Donohue asked, “what’s wrong with a gook joke?”
