Jim Robinson, founder of top conservative forum Free Republic, has issued a call to arms to fellow activists to stop Mitt Romney.
In a plea posted on the site, Robinson laments what he perceives as unfair attacks on Rick Perry, Sarah Palin, Herman Cain and Michele Bachmann, which has left the far right he represents with few choices besides Romney and “moonbat” Ron Paul. Robinson pleads: “Should we all continue attacking the conservatives we don’t like until we drive them all out?”
Robinson, who’s site took part of organizing conservatives in the 2000 Florida recount and has been praised by Fox’s Brit Hume, describes Romney as an “abortionist,” “statist,” “progressive” that he “won’t vote for.” Robinson communicates that failing to select a conservative to solidly oppose Romney will lead to an Obama re-election.
In 2004 conservative author Jerome Corsi was revealed to have posted racist comments on Free Republic. Contributors to the site have described the Obama family as “ghetto street trash.” Conservative writer Matt Drudge at one point ceased linking to the site after he saw the headline “Nigger Baby” posted there.
