The amount of veterans who are homeless has dropped 12% in a year, according to government statistics. The Housing and Urban Development reports that a survey that reported 76,000 homeless veterans in January of 2010 showed that number at 67,500 in January of 2011. The Obama administration believes an initiative to get veterans to use a housing voucher program contributed to the decrease. [AP]
