Rick PerryRick Perry again stumbled on the presidential campaign trail today, referring to “eight” justices on the Supreme Court. There are nine justices on the Supreme Court, a fact every American child learns in grade school.

Perry’s comments came at a meeting with the Des Moines Register’s editorial board. Perry attacked the “eight unelected” justices on the Supreme Court for making decisions he disagreed with.

Perry also forgot the name of Justice Sonia Sotomayor in the interview.*

* Correction: This story incorrectly referred to Sotomayor as the most recent Supreme Court justice. In fact, Elena Kagan is the most recent justice. We regret the error.
