Video Shows Gingrich Supporting Health Care Mandate, Government Role

Bombshell video from 2005 has surfaced showing Newt Gingrich supporting the invidivual mandate he now opposes. Gingrich claims that he wants to repeal health care reform, but in 2005 he was a backer of the individual mandate, which requires citizens to purchase health insurance.

Another video, from 2003, shows Gingrich explaining that, “I think government has to lead” the case for health care reform and that he sees himself as a Republican in the mold of progressive Teddy Roosevelt.
