Audio Tape Implicates Syracuse Coach Bernie Fine In Sexual Abuse

An audio tape of a phone conversation from the wife of Syracuse associate head coach Bernie Fine appears to implicate him in child sexual abuse. The audio, acquired by ESPN, reportedly has Laurie Fine saying that “Bernie has issues, maybe that he’s not aware of, but he has issues … And you trusted somebody you shouldn’t have trusted …” Fine also says, “Bernie is also in denial. I think that he did the things he did, but he’s somehow through his own mental telepathy has erased them out of his mind.”

Bobby Davis, who recorded the conversation, has accused Fine of sexually molesting him when he was a ball boy for the Orangemen. [ESPN]
