The Obama White House has announced that if a Senate bill on net neutrality backed by the Republicans passes, he will veto it. The White House said S.J. Res. 6 “would undermine a fundamental part of the Nation’s Open Internet and innovation strategy.”
The bill, backed by Republicans who took donations from large telecom companies, would void a recent FCC rule that said Internet traffic had to be treated equally.
The administration press release explains, “If the President is presented with S.J. Res. 6, which would not safeguard the free and open Internet, his senior advisers would recommend that he veto the Resolution.”
