Rick Perry Caught In Stimulus Lie

Rick Perry claimed in last night’s CNN/Tea Party debate that “zero jobs” were created by the 2009 stimulus bill. The claim is untrue.

Politifact, the website from the St. Petersburg Times that fact checks claims rates Perry’s response their most negative: “pants on fire.” They found that research indicates that anywhere from 1.3 million to 3.6 million jobs were saved or created as a result of the stimulus. [Politifact]
