An ethics complaint being filed against Rep. Darrell Issa alleges that he used his position to personally profit. The document, from American Family Voices, notes that Issa put pressure on the Securities and Exchange Committee to stop a probe of multi-billion dollar investment house Goldman Sachs shortly after Issa had purchased a mutual fund from the company. The complaint also says that Issa defended Merrill Lynch after he invested with them.
Issa has often used his position as chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform to allege wrongdoing and scandal by the Obama administration, but as of yet has not produced any credible charges. [The Hill]
