Rick Perry signed a bill promoted by community activist group ACORN and posed with members as he signed it. In July of 2005, Texas Gov. Rick Perry signed a bill making changes in home lending that community group ACORN had promoted. Perry signed the bill surrounded by ACORN members.
Perry later went on to attack ACORN in his 2009 campaign versus Kay Bailey Hutchinson, apparently willing to go against a group he had once worked with in order to protect his political ambitions. [Houston Chronicle]
