Poll: Bush Still To Blame For Bad Economy

Bush & CheneyDespite the efforts of conservatives to put the blame for the sluggish economy on President Obama, most still find President Bush’s policies at fault. A new poll from Associated Press/Gfk finds that 51% of those responding to the poll blame President Bush for the poor economy, while only 31% blame Obama.

Under Bush the mortgage bubble grew as the government declined to provide oversight to the industry. When the bubble burst, it was the Bush administration that bailed out the banks without requiring them to lend money. [AP]
