The Iranian government has convicted two American hikers it has held for over two years of spying. Shane M. Bauer and Joshua F. Fattal have been sentenced to 8 years for their alleged crime. President Obama and the rest of the US government have denied that the hikers had any connection to US intelligence services. Their companion, Sarah E. Shourd, was released in September 2010.
