Republicans are responding furiously to President Obama’s birthday, in an unprecedented attack on a presidential birthdate. A spokesman for the party e-mailed a broadside blasting Obama for turning 50, claiming that high unemployment meant the President should skip the modest celebration planned for the chief executive.
Mitt Romney jumped on the birthday ban bandwagon too, sending out a web video highlighting the unemployment woes of Chicago, where the President will be celebrating. Chicago would seem to be a curious target for the flip-flopping former Massachusetts governor. That city recently elected former Obama right-hand-man Rahm Emaneul to mayor, a sign they may not be as anti-Obama as Romney would like. [Alan Colmes]
